Skydive Long Island has been in continuous operation for the past 21 years, with one of the best Safety records in the United States.

Starting out at Spadaro airport in 1986, Skydive Long Island was a single 182 dropzone located on Montauk Highway in East Moriches, Long Island, New York. We started as a static line training center, jumping rounds, graduating many students, alot of who are still on staff! ( We even "borrowed" the airport owners grandson! ) As the business grew, we were able to purchase a second aircraft. It was a very happy home for us all. We all got excited when the tandem students came, and hoped for an open slot cause we would get 8500 feet!

Then in 2000, a golden opportunity came to us. We always saw this huge airport to our north on the climbs to altitude, but knew it was way off limits, especially to skydivers. But maybe not now.... The Calverton Naval Weapons Reserve plant, operated by Grumman was sold to the town of Riverhead, Long Island, and they wanted to lease land! It seemed too good to be true, and still does at times! The smell of Jet-A, long gone from the last F-14 has returned to Runway 14-32! We sold our 2 182's bought a really nice 207, and we have had various turbines including John Bowens King Air, The CASA from Carolina Sky Sports, the Skyvan and Porter from Crosskeys, Twin Otters , and now a Full Time Grand Caravan. Big difference from our sleepy little 2000 foot runway in East Moriches, but we have tried to keep that home family feeling.

So if you want to jump with the same crew from East Moriches, we are still here jumping on Long Island, just shifted a little north, and alot larger!

We pride ourselves in only using the most up to date and safest equipment, and the most progressive training method available. We have dropped static line in favor of AFF training, and almost all staff members have at least a USPA coaches rating. ( even the guy who mows the lawn is an Instructor! )
