Why Skydivers Love Skydiving at Night
The wonders of skydiving are never ending. Perhaps that's why the sport attracts so many different people who create and enjoy such unique experiences such as skydiving at night. There are many things skydivers love about this sport, so let's explore why skydivers love skydiving at night!
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE, PRECAUTIONS & PROTOCOL

Skydive Long Island will strive to follow federal, state, and local guidance on how to conduct our business with respect to limiting the spread of Covid-19. When Does Skydiving Season Open?
If you've been cooped up indoors during the coronavirus quarantine, it's likely you've been daydreaming about all the things you'd like to do once the quarantine is over - we're no different! We've built our lives around skydiving and this has been a challenging period for us all. We're ready to get back in the sky! So, what have we been doing in the meantime? Writing about skydiving! We've been using this time to write about everything we know about jumping from airplanes just for you (and ourselves to beat some quarantine boredom). This week, we're talking about skydiving season - when it starts, when it ends and the best time of year to jump.
The Experience of a Lifetime
Perhaps, on this day, it happens as sunlight peeks through the blinds of your bedroom window or the tone of your alarm nudges you awake. Either way, as your eyelids open, though still a little groggy and heavy with sleep, the realization is almost instantaneous-today is the day.
The reservation was made well in advance, but until now, it almost didn't seem real. You are going skydiving.
As you get up and mill about, brewing a cup of coffee and grabbing a light bite to eat before heading out the door, it feels like your morning is most surreal. You know you're here and this is real, but you can't believe the adventure you're about to embark on.
The Difference Between Paragliding and Skydiving
Dangling underneath some carefully sewn together fabric and flying about in the sky is an amazing thing that we get to do. In a relatively short span of years human beings have gone from staring up at birds and wondering by what magic they can do that, to deciphering the science of flight to the point we have portable magical backpacks that allow us to get up there and play along.
Skydiving and BASE Jumping - What’s the Difference?
Without having already learned the differences, it is easy to forgive someone for thinking that jumping out of an aircraft or off the top of a big cliff or tall building is the same thing. It looks the same, right? Put on a backpack containing a parachute, jump, open parachute and then land. While BASE jumping and skydiving are indeed related in certain ways, there are some crucial differences that separate the two to the point where they are defined and considered as different sports.
