Skydiving. It's unlike anything you've experienced before. That feeling you get when you jump from the airplane, the rush of freefall, the peacefulness of the parachute ride... it can be totally addictive!
As you prepare for your first jump, here are just a few of the reasons we're pretty sure you'll be back for more...
1. You'll be walking on air long after you land!
Have you ever achieved something you didn't think you could? Maybe you ran that marathon that you never saw yourself running, or submitted a great report that, on first glance, you were pretty sure was impossible.
If you've ever overcome any kind of challenge, you'll know how amazing it feels. Now multiply that feeling by about a million, and you'll be somewhere close to the incredible feeling of achievement you get from jumping out of an airplane!
It's a feeling that will stay with you long after you land. You'll be walking on air, buoyed by the knowledge that you've done something awesome. You'll feel like you can achieve anything - it's a feeling you'll want to replicate again and again!
2. A change of perspective
Once you've jumped out of an airplane, you'll never be the same again.
There's nothing like the peace and tranquility you'll get in freefall. The clarity, the freedom, the perspective you'll get changes the way you think about everything.
No one ever got down from a jump having spent the whole time worrying about work or other stresses. When you're up there, falling at speeds of around 120mph, everything else is forgotten. You're free to just be in the moment, to take in what's happening in the here and now and to set aside all your other concerns.
That new sense of perspective sticks with you, and helps you think differently. Where once you might have stressed the small stuff, now you'll confidently look forward, knowing there's nothing you can't overcome.
3. Happiness like no other
Are you a fan of high fives and happy whooping?
These kinds of displays of happiness are commonplace on the drop zone. Skydiving gives you a feeling of happiness unlike any other. And there's a scientific reason why, too!
The whole thing starts with the nerves you feel prior to your jump. Don't worry - nerves are totally normal (if anyone tells you they're not even a bit nervous, they're lying!). So you get nervous and your body responds with adrenaline, part of our 'fight or flight' response.
Then, you jump, and that adrenaline pumps through your body. You're more alert than normal and all of your sense are heightened.
You land, and that adrenaline is transformed into a big ball of happiness that wells up in the pit of your stomach and grows and grows and grows before exploding out of you in happy tears or yelps of joy! You'll be high fiving and hugging and dancing around - and you'll bring your friends and family along with you! Happiness that strong is intoxicating - and you'll want to feel it again and again!
4. Skydiving is a lifestyle
Did you know that there are thousands of people across the US who call skydiving their hobby?
It's not just a one off experience; skydiving is something you can do again and again. It's a sport that includes many disciplines. It attracts a huge variety of different people from different backgrounds who all come together with one common passion - to jump out of airplanes and to feel amazing!
Skydiving is a totally legit lifestyle. There's a really strong community spirit in skydiving. You'll meet wonderful people and make lifelong friends. And hey, we all started with that first jump! So what are you waiting for? Book your skydive today and prepare to be addicted!
